In Moldova, the 2026 road toll system is based on the electronic vignette (e-vinieta). Unlike many EU countries, in Moldova, the vignette must be purchased not only for passenger cars but, primarily, for heavy transport vehicles registered outside the country.

Important for carriers: The 1-day vignette is available exclusively for buses and heavy goods vehicles. Passenger cars must purchase a vignette for a minimum of 7 days.
Other Fees and Border Requirements
In addition to the vignette, when entering Moldova in 2026, you should remember about:
- Disinfection Fee: Similar to Belarus, a sanitary fee may be collected at selected border crossings (approx. 5-10 € per truck).
- Giurgiulești - Galați Bridge: Crossing the bridge on the border with Romania may involve a small local fee (usually included in port or border procedures).
- Green Card: Absolutely mandatory. The lack of valid insurance on Moldovan territory results in the vehicle being immobilized at the border.
Fine Schedule (2026)
The Moldovan Customs Service and the Border Police check for the presence of the vignette in the electronic system during departure from the country and during road inspections.
- No vignette (check up to 7 days): Fine from 5,000 MDL (approx. 235 €).
- No vignette (over 7 days): Fine up to 6,500 MDL (approx. 305 €).
