ONYX TMS 2.0 – a project co-financed from European Funds
ONYX Sp. z o.o. is implementing a research and development project called "ONYX TMS 2.0", co-financed under the European Funds for Pomerania 2021-2027 programme, Priority FEPM.01 European Funds for a competitive and smart Pomerania, Measure FEPM.01.01 Research and innovation in enterprises. The project is co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund.
Project objective
The objective of the project is to develop a modern transport planning module in a SaaS model that will enable real-time integration of road and rail transport, dynamic management of time windows in warehouses, and handling of Cross-Dock operations.
The ONYX TMS 2.0 solution will address the needs of companies in the transport, forwarding, and logistics sectors that are looking for tools to better synchronise fleet availability, rail slots, warehouse ramp schedules, and transshipment processes.
Scope of work
As part of the project, ONYX Sp. z o.o. will carry out research and development work including in particular:
- development of algorithms enabling road-rail transport planning synchronised with available train capacity and time windows,
- development of mechanisms for dynamic allocation of time windows and orders on the shipper side,
- development of algorithms supporting Cross-Dock process handling,
- integration of the developed algorithms with the ONYX TMS system,
- testing, validation, and verification of the solution in conditions close to real-world operations.
Target groups
The project results will benefit in particular:
- transport and logistics companies carrying out multimodal and intermodal transport,
- Cross-Dock transshipment terminal operators,
- enterprises with large vehicle fleets that need advanced tools for dynamic management of routes, resources, and schedules.
Planned project outcomes
The project will deliver an innovative ONYX TMS 2.0 module, available as a SaaS subscription, supporting more efficient planning and execution of transport processes.
The project will contribute in particular to:
- increased efficiency of transport planning,
- better synchronisation of road, rail, and warehouse operations,
- reduction of empty runs,
- shorter waiting times for vehicles at loading and unloading,
- reduction of operating costs,
- support for reducing CO₂ emissions through more efficient transport organisation.
